How Your Donations Support Savannah Pride Center

We believe transparency matters.

Savannah Pride Center is a small LGBTQIA+ nonprofit serving communities across the Deep South. Every day, we provide affirming programs, healthcare initiatives, outreach, advocacy, community events, and direct support services to people who often have nowhere else to turn.

One of the biggest misconceptions about nonprofits is that all funding can simply be moved around freely. In reality, nonprofit funding is often highly restricted and designated for specific purposes.

At this time, Savannah Pride Center does not receive federal or state funding for our operations.

Our monthly individual donations currently average approximately $1,500 per month — which currently only covers our rent. Operational costs beyond that, including utilities, office supplies, technology, programming, outreach efforts, and community services, must be supported through additional fundraising, sponsorships, grants, and partnerships.

Like many LGBTQIA+ organizations across the country, we also work with corporate sponsors, health organizations, and community partners who provide funding specifically designated for events, outreach campaigns, or public programming.

For example, when a company sponsors a Vogue Ball, Pride event, Health Summit, or community activation, those sponsorship dollars are intended to support that specific event while also allowing companies to publicly support and engage with the LGBTQIA+ community. This is a common nonprofit funding model used nationwide.

These events are not separate from our mission. They create visibility, build partnerships, foster safer spaces, connect people to services, strengthen outreach efforts, and help bring new supporters into our community. In many cases, they also help generate additional unrestricted funding that supports our broader operations and programs.

As corporate sponsorships for LGBTQIA+ organizations continue to decline nationally, community support becomes even more important in helping centers like ours remain sustainable.

Every donation — no matter the size — helps us continue building affirming healthcare access, outreach programs, educational initiatives, community spaces, and direct support services for LGBTQIA+ people throughout our region.

Thank you for helping us keep this work alive. <3
